Mountain Lifts in Zillertal
Up, up and away – and that doesn’t stop in summer! During summertime, 12 mountain lifts will be open. That means, there’s no need to make long, arduous uphill hikes to reach your day’s destination amid the peaks of the Zillertal mountains. And don’t forget: the Zillertal ActivCard allows you to ride the lifts up and down our mountains for free!

Zillertal gold mine
The starting point is the cheese dairy and the wildlife park in Hainzenberg.
Head downhill to the tree trunk carving workshop and to the mineral exhibit. Continue to the folk heritage museum and to the "Maria Rast' pilgrimage church. Then make your way through the forest to the gold mine.
Europe's highest waterfalls in the Hohe Tauern National Park
Our tip: drive over the Gerlospaß (Krimml waterfalls) – Paß Thurn – Kitzbühel – Ellmau (Wilder Kaiser) – Kufstein – Zillertal (round-trip ca. 180 km)

Alpine Slide and Bag Jump: in the Zillertal Arena, there is so much to experience. With the help of the Arena Coaster in Zell am Ziller, you can even go “sledding” here in summer. The Bag Jump, which involves leaping from a high platform into a gigantic air pillow, is also definitely not for the weak-of-heart!

Schlegeis reservoir & hike
Wonderful ride along the Schlegeis alpine road. The reservoir is an ideal starting point for hikes. Our tip: a loop trail around the reservoir is an easy hike without steep inclines.
Go on a torch-lit tour through 500 meters of this cave system. You will gain fascinating insights into the mountain's interior.
In the Spannagelhöhle, you will see stalactites, crystals, and colorful marble.
If you would like, you can take a ride on the over 120 year old Achenseebahn in Jenbach. The cog railway will take you 7 km up the mountain to the Seespitz on the Achensee. With a gradient of up to 16%, the old narrow-gauge railway really works up a sweat. Once you have arrived at the top, you can take a ride on the steamboat across the Achensee.
Schwaz silver mine
Experienced how silver was mined over 500 years ago – Schwaz was the largest mine in the Middle Ages!
The mine railway will take you into the mountain followed by a tour, where you will learn about the hard work of the miners in the Middle Ages.
