The Achensee is one of Tyrol's best cross-country skiing areas. The different difficulty levels of the trails and the wonderful nature will cast a spell over you. The area around the Achensee offers more than 200 km of cross-country trails and grants one-of-a-kind cross-country skiing fun. In the 5 towns around the Achensee (Achenkirch, Maurach, Pertisau, Steinberg, Wiesing), each one has its own cross-country trail - both skating and classic routes.
In Pertisau there is a practice trail. Here, everyone who has never stood on cross-country skis can see how these narrow skis work and take their first steps. There are also barrier-free trails at the Achensee, which means the trails are extra wide for cross-country sledding. Of course, there is also room on the trail for your best friend, your dog.
The 15 km long loop trail in the valley is ideal for beginners and advanced skiers. The trail leads from village to village surrounded by the gorgeous landscape. The starting point is the valley station of the Spieljochbahn. There are various access points, which make it possible to leave the trail anytime for a stop at a restaurant or Christmas market.
